Getting to Mackinac Island

Being located on an island with no cars, one of the most common questions is 'how do I get there?'  Its easier than you think!

By Ferry

The most common way of getting on the island is by ferry. Mission Point recommends Arnold Transit.  By choosing Arnold Transit, your luggage is seamlessly delivered to your room as part of our baggage handlng fee. Once on the island, taxi's are always waiting to take you to Mission Point or you can enjoy the short walk from the island dock to Mission Point. There are two mainland docks to choose from:

Mackinaw City Docks - 801 S. Huron, Mackinaw City, MI 49701
St. Ignace Docks - 99 N. State St., St. Ignace, MI 49781

By Air

Great Lakes Air is the exclusive air passenger service to Mackinac Island, leaving out of both Saint Ignace and the regional airports in the area. A taxi to Mission Point can be arranged to meet you at the airport on Mackinac Island.  Whether you are flying in to the area or driving, Great Lakes Air features an amazing arrival experience onto the island, for less than you would think!

If you are flying into the area instead of driving, we recommend flying into Pellston Regional Airport (PLN), as it is the closest and most convenient to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, and features daily nonstop service to Detroit on Delta Airlines.
